Mustang Champions is proud to announce its partnership in producing the 2025 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo $50,000 Mustang Magic. The three-day event features mustangs that were untouched only 100 days prior, as they compete with some of the top mustang trainers in the country in the historic Will Rogers Coliseum. The top 10 highest scoring exhibitor and mustang pairs will continue on to the Saturday night FWSSR Mustang Magic Top 10 Finals to compete in a freestyle format for $50,000 in cash and prizes. The annual event showcases the abilities and skills of the American mustang as a champion or companion. 

The competing mustangs will be available for adoption via public auction immediately following the Saturday night Top 10 Finals.

Mustang Magic Judges

Garth Gardiner has judged major reined cowhorse events across the US, Canada and Sweden.

Originally hailing from Ashland, Kansas, Garth and his wife Amanda moved to Texas in 2020 where they now make their home near Brock, Texas.  In early 2008, the Gardiners purchased Hes Wright On and committed their breeding program to raising the best reined cow horses possible.  With the breeding and showing success of a few early stallions and mares, the Gardiner’s are proud to be breeders of NRCHA progeny that have won over $2.6 million dollars to date. 

As a Non-Pro exhibitor, Gardiner and his wife enjoyed success at all levels including Limited Aged Events and Horse Show classes.  The reined cow horse industry has blessed them with many lifetime friendships and amazing memories.

Bryce Briggs, a Pilot Point Texas Native, is a 4th generation in the horse business with his great grandmother being one of the founding members of AQHA. Bryce puts his emphasis in training on ranch horse versatility and trading rope horses for AQHA and APHA shows and rope horse futurity events. 

Briggs, holding many show accolades, was most recently crowned the high point exhibitor of the APHA world championship show. He is thankful to have been chosen to judge this year's event!

  • Friday night is a special night featuring performances from Dan James, Bobby Kerr, Tomas Garcilazo, and Icelandic Horsemen. These incredible horsemen from the four corners of the world are coming together to showcase a night full of history, rich cultures, and heritage. This is a ticketed event.

    Saturday night is the final conclusion to the Mustang Magic competition - these competitors and their mustangs were paired up back in September, and have competed all weekend in a series of classes for a chance to participate in the Top 10 Finals. The top 10 highest scoring mustangs and riders qualified to compete in Saturday nights ticketed event. These talented pairs will perform unique freestyles for a chance to become this years Mustang Magic Champion. You will need a separate ticket for this event.

  • Yes and we hope you do! Throughout the event, you will have the opportunity to visit with the trainers about their mustangs during Meet the Mustangs socials. You can also see all the mustangs in the stalls and while they are competing. The only time you need a ticket is Saturday for the Top 10 Finals.

    At the conclusion of the competition Saturday night, there will be an adoption via live auction. All competing mustangs will participate in this auction, where approved bidders are able to bid for a chance to take them home. Only approved bidders are able to participate in the auction.

  • You must apply to bid on site - the Wild Horse and Burro staff will be onsite handing out blank applications for those who are interested in bidding. They will also review, approve, and assign bidder numbers onsite. 

  • There is so much to do! Our event is during the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo which is the perfect time to attend. There will be a carnival, livestock events, rodeo entertainment, and much more!
